Good Idea! Ya know, every other Titans, you can know but Terra's like a mystery...
Well, maybe she was just born special.. Or she fell into a bucket of radioactive ...stuff

Ok, this is what I got
Tara Markov was the illegitimate daughter of the King of Markovia, who sent her to the United States in order to avoid a scandal. Tara's royal blood gave her the ability to gain earth-moving powers, which she did, with the help of Dr. Helga Jace, who used the same process to make Prince Brion, Tara's half-brother, into the hero known as Geo-Force.
It is unclear how or when her earth-manipulating abilities were acquired, or how much ‘help' Dr. Jace was; Jace referred to Terra's acquisition of her powers as ‘meddling' – hinting she may not have had full permission to acquire said powers. Sometime after she acquired these abilities, she left Markovia to embark on her own.

Thanks, but on the TV show she not royal I don't know why they changed it, but there's alot of things they have changed about her like she drank beer, smoked, wore makeup and wore ear rings. On the TV show she did none of that.

well in the comics Tara was REALLY messed. I think she killed herself. Also, she betrayed the Titans with no regrets, unlike the Terra in the TV show

Well, for the cartoon, we don't really know how BB got his powers either. Everyone assumes it's the same, but they never actually came out and said it. So, that's actually a possable explanation. She could be some kind of princess living in exile, or on the run from her parents, which would explain why she was always on the move. Anyways, just a thought.

I presume that she was just born like that without any accidents or experimental tests.

I think in the show, the origins of how they got their abilities have been changed a bit, although it is unclear.

it doesnt say anything about how any of them get their powers.
Think about it.
Starfire: Okay, shes an alien so thats cleared. Raven: She's Trigon's daughter and blah blah powers crazy.
But...
Robin: Something about a circus? ... He doesnt have powers, crazy. But how did he turn into Robin and blah? BB: No clue Cyborg: THEY MADE HIS GRANDMA HALF ROBOT! (SO INCORRECT) Terra: Uh... Hi, we only saw you for like 3 episodes....
So, for the last 4, you really don't know. They couldn't really go into deep information about everything like they could in comics. They only have like 24 minutes to entertain you, not fill your head about experiments and how people get superpowers.
Use your imagination. For others, use what the original gave you.
And also, they can't exactly go with the comics because the comics were done in the 70's, smoking, drinking and all that jazz was normal. (it kinda is now but its considered BAD)
So, if your show is for children that may be under the age of 7, they'll think drinkin/smoking is okay. If they actually followed the original, a lot of things would be different. I am totally not going into that because I'd go on forever. . . but I am so tempted to... -restrains self- must... not... okay
So yes. IMAGINATION. If you really want the STRAIGHT Facts, then I suggest you read what I wrote and believe it because they came straight from the official teen titans website.

Well, we're told Cyborg was in an accident and that's why he's a cyborg, but for the others you're right. They didn't say anything really.

Well, that was in season 5 (specifically, Go!). Cyborg was talking to BB and he said (not sure of the exact quote, but) "I had an accident and now I'm a monster!"
