OK, I watched the last four episodes all in one shot, so here's my analysis of them:
Go!
It was pretty good. Liked it enough that I think it might have made a better series finale than Things Change.
Calling All Titans
Good as a set up for the next episode. I like it more for that than for anything else.
Titans Together
Great season ender. Finally resolved the Brotherhood of Evil/Beast Boy arc. Loved all the cameos, great to see Jinx has officially turned from the dark side, KID FLASH IS THERE... just over all goodness.
Things Change
I've watched it a few times and I think I've figured it out. My initial impression was I hated it. I couldn't believe they had just a crappy episode for not only the season but the series finale. Then I watched it again and read some reviews and realized why I didn't like it. I was watching looking for realistic and as a series finale for all the Titans. But it's actually the conclusion of the Beast Boy arc, and they're ending the series the same way they started, as if they're still going. And the other problem was it needs to be looked at as a story. That sounds silly, but there are stories that are real, and there are stories that are stories. Stories that are real have the characters as people. Stories, the characters represent something or even someone else. In this story, the various characters are all trying to push Beast Boy in the same direction as Mento did in Homecoming. "It's time to grow up Beast Boy." And the whole theme of the episode is summed up in the title. Beast Boy needs to learn that things can't stay the way they are. Omni mutantur, nos et mutamur in illis.
Overall
I still haven't decided for sure, but I think that GO! might have made a better series finale than Things Change. Things Change was the finale of the season arc, and I think GO! might have been a better ending for the entire show.
I'm also convinced they could have condensed the entire Brotherhood of Evil arc into about three episodes, maybe four. The "Capture the Communicator" didn't need an entire episode and most of the rest didn't need the Brotherhood of Evil to work (For Real, Lightspeed, Hide and Seek, Kole) where it only explained the urgency or why the Titans weren't in town. Really, the first two and the last two were the only ones that were really part of the arc, and both could have been compressed into one episode each. A lot of the last two were cool cameos and Homecoming had a lot of unnecessary repetition.
